I had breakfast with Gaucho, Mav, and Sahib (a\u00a0retired French\u00a0diplomat) at Jans Cafe and then caught the 9:00 o’ clock shuttle back to the trail.\u00a0 Mav bailed at the last minute because he wasn’t feeling well and said he was going to get the next shuttle at 11:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back on the divide after Lima<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We were dropped off on the side of I15 where Modoc Road crosses underneath. The trail follows various dirt roads until it regains the divide along the Idaho-Montana border. Gaucho and I made good progress throughout the day.  I enjoyed the trail, the scenery was good, there was a light breeze, the bugs weren’t too bad, and the trail was reasonable, if a bit steep at times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We obtained water at Rock spring, which was barely flowing with a tiny trickle of water coming from a pipe in some rocks.\u00a0 We hooked my Cnoc bladder onto the pipe and made dinner while it filled.\u00a0 10 minutes later we had 2 liters.\u00a0 Soon we were full and our water was topped up.\u00a0 We went another half-mile until the trail started to flatten out at the top of Table Mountain and made camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right after we got in our tents a thunderstorm started raining and hailing on us.\u00a0 Perfect timing and an end to a good day! We hoped Mav would somehow find us even though we were a ways off trail. We texted him but he never answered back or showed up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
