I left camp at Red Eagle Lake early and started up Triple Divide pass.\u00a0 On the way the views were amazing (as usual for Glacier). I waited around on top for an hour and finally Knewt and Kteri caught up with me. I was cold from the wind so after a quick visit I continued down the other side. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While waiting I met an interesting guy who does contract work for the park service. He climbs to select locations with a high-powered telescopic camera and tallies the number of large game animals he can spot in one hour. He has records going back years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also watched a lot of squirrel and marmot action at the top of the pass. The marmots run around and fight with each other and make their squeaking sounds. Very entertaining!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After going over the pass the trail descends a long way down along the side of a cirque to Atlantic creek, and then takes a sharp right up Cut Bank creek to Morning Star Lake where my assigned campsite is located..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
