The trail climbed to the top of Mesa Portales with amazing views and then we cruised downhill all the way to highway 550.\u00a0 Caroline, Pat and I did the 5 mile road walk into Cuba along the highway.\u00a0 Our hotel, the Cuban Lodge is not the fanciest place I’ve ever stayed, but the beds were clean.\u00a0 Caroline commented that it looked like one of those murder motels before she knew Pat and I were staying there.\u00a0 It is a bit rundown I suppose, but “murder motel”? \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We walked down the main street to the Subway and got hit up for some money. No sooner do we get rid of that guy than another one comes up and gets way too close for my comfort. He keeps saying he’s not with the other guy and he used to be a WWF wrestler. What the hell? Just get the fuck away from me. We get to the Subway and there is a shady looking dude just drinking some water. He sat there the entire time we ate just drinking a glass of water. Eventually another big dude comes in and sits by the door. And he doesn’t do anything at all but sit there. I know – no big deal. But I’m starting to get a bad vibe about this town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
