The nice people at Doc Campbell’s gave me a bag of rice to dry my phone. I kept my phone in the bag all day and it works a little better but still eventually goes haywire.\u00a0 I think the humidity inside eventually messes up the touch screen.\u00a0 I am typing this on borrowed time.\u00a0 I have a hard time entering the digit “one” still. I met Airplane Mode and several other people here, but unfortunately I can’t remember their names. Airplane Mode has done other long distance hikes before and she had several good tips for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hiked up to the cliff dwellings which were very cool. You follow a one mile loop trail that leads you up the canyon and through the structures. There are no rangers around and you are free to explore the buildings at will as long as you stay on the path, which is pretty cool. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then took a 4 mile trail up 700 feet and then down the beautiful Little Bear Creek to the Gila Middle Fork.\u00a0 I would have taken a bunch of pictures except my phone was buried in rice <sigh>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eeyore<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Eeyore (Don) is very nice and has joined us.\u00a0 He got his name because he talks slowly with a deep voice like the donkey named Eeyore on Winnie the Poo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many beautiful grassy camp sites along the river under the sycamore, ponderosa pine, and oak trees. The river is not nearly as powerful up here. Argh! Phone is wigging out. Night. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
